![]() Re Frank Downey's suggestions (three posts up). Just be sure that you adjust the export ratio commensurately. You can vary this tactic by recording at 1.5 X or 1.25 X instead of 2 X as in my example. Then, record away.ĭownsampling like this is a good thing b/c you won'y loose sharpness and clarity. If, however, the window you want to record is in the resizable window of another app, simply adjust that window to cover/match the web browser window. If the window you want to capture is a web browser window, you are done. Just change the width/height numbers to suit and put them all in a folder called ScreenSize in your Bookmarks Menu so they are close at hand. A bookmarklet is a bookmark set to an address that is actually a JavaScript statement. Using Safari, create a folder full of bookmarklets set to various window sizes you anticipate using. If what you want to capture is in a resizable window, here's a trick for setting a web browser window to a specific height and width and then matching that with a partial capture. Can you keep what you want to record within those boundaries w/o too much wasted space? If third party apps (EasyRes, SwitchResX) are the only solution, do they actually fix the problem and, if so, can anyone comment on which is the better app? Not sure how practical a solution this is. If using Screenflow's ability to capture part of a screen at 1920x1080 is a solution (if I understand the June 9 webinar correctly, it is supposed to be), I guess I can try it, although the available screen real estate is rather small. See attached screenshot (made at the iMac's native resolution). I had hoped that Screenflow's new ability to capture part of a screen at 1920x1080 would solve this problem, but when I try to use it the new frame lines seem to capture only a small part of the screen, even when resolution is reduced from the native resolution. ![]() For me, it's fundamental to the utility of Screenflow, and I can't find anything in the Resources section that is of assistance. I assume that I am not the first person to run into this problem and would appreciate any help on how to fix it. The closest is the MacBook Pro, which offers 1920x1200. Neither of these computers offers 1920x1080. ![]() Possible external display: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, native resolution 2880x1800) Main computer: iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, native resolution 5120x2880) I want to record and export 1920x1080, but my set-up appears to be a problem: ![]()
